Black and White.

I think one thing i like about summer is that in the evenings the temperature is just right. You can wear a T-shirt out and not feel sweaty or chilly. With the clear weather, going out at night is really beautiful in Hong Kong.
Just take a look yourself! Isn't it pretty?

So i got myself a new camera so i decided to test out the the custom Black and White mode.
It's actually rather cool. I don't often take black and white pictures but i guess i can make an exception this time hehe.

I've never had Shisha in Hong Kong before, so i went to a Turkish Cuisine this night and sat outdoors. Even though it was a weekday it was very lively - Maybe because today's weather is starting to feel great.
I had an Apple flavor Shisha. Somehow it lasted for hours, me and my friends had a tough time finishing it haha.
The night ended with us getting tired and woozy lol.

  1. Whaaa.. it looks great! What kind of camera did you buy/use? Compact? I really like the skyline picture! Hope to see more of your photography soon.

May I ask you if you ever felt like 'leaving' Hong Kong? Seems like once you've been here one time... you don't wanna leave again.

I agree with the above ^ I wanna know what camera you got! : D

For some reason I always link black/white photos with Sex & The City. LOL. Dunno why..

  3. Hong Kong is a great city. It looks like stars in the mountains. And Lukian is a great girl. Black and White, new and fun. I like it.

  4. Monochromatic photography; good idea to get into some of that, there are a lotta things you can do with that, a lotta scope for new ideas & creativity, like with the night shooting setting on most digital cameras, I've tried getting a new set of photo's of places that I once took foto's of during bright sunlight, but now I want the same of those, but at night, with street lights blazing brightly, it's tricky, not easy to get right, but some of the night shot's I've done over the last several years have turned out to be quite surprising, add to that the same again in Monochrome (Black 'n' White) and again, both in sunlight and at night, and another dimensions is opened, you see things in a totally new way. Photography can be a really satisfying hobby if you can get into it, and of course there is money that can be made, if you have thousands of photo's, you can set up your own gallery to display them, or as part of an exhibition somewhere!!!!!

Also, I like your new camera, the Panasonic GF1, it's a superb camera, although, with it's 12.1 Megapixels, the Jpeg file size will be rather large, (it will make about 2 or 3 megabyte files for each photo, depending how high you have it set) so storage of photo's will need some upgrading too, and I recommend that you buy an external hard drive unit, with a capacity of one & a half or (preferably) two Terra bytes. so that you won't have to worry about that problem for a long time (unless you take literally thousands of foto's per year, in which case you just go buy another 2 or 4 terra byte hard drive to keep them on!!!

I can also recommend a *Mono Pod* (unlike a Tripod) which is much lighter, folds away out of sight, fits in a shoulder bag or it's own carrying case, and allows you two take steady shots as & when you need to!!!

    Ciao. \☺
