2014 Time Machine - Halloween

I am not a party animal. I am the type of girl who prefers to stay at home, watch movies repeatedly or spend countless hours on a RPG and perverted Japanese vita games.
But there comes to a day, i want to party, i want to drink, i want to dance and go crazy with my girls.
That's Halloween! Me and the girls take this day very seriously. I mean, we arn't young, we cannot go out everyday and get wasted. We have a job, jobs that requires us to look our best. Imagine being hungover going on a catwalk, haha!

This year, i was going to be Poison Ivy!
So... i dyed my hair red. LOL Trust me, it was very shocking to the people around me.



I made my outfit from scratch. Took me a couple days, wasn't as hard as i thought it would be and i had a lot of fun. My housemate will come home with leaves everywhere. The floors, tables, chairs, there was no where to sit or stand haha.



After the costume was finished. Putting it on was quick and easy, no efforts needed.
I think the evening of Halloween i spend the most effort on my make up. Trying not to fuck it up otherwise it would be a bummer.

That day going out of my apartment everyone in the streets stared at me.
It's not a big deal to see someone dressed up on halloween back in London. But in Hong Kong they find it very interesting and shocking or embarrassing.
That's the thing about Hong Kong. People are so afraid of being judged. Who cares! Just have fun!
Me and the girls met up and took a taxi to Lan Kwai Fong. Let the partying begin!!!



Clubbing was packed, met some dudes dressed up as a horse, they started eating the leaves of my outfit, which kinda pissed me off but at the same time quite funny. Looks like my outfit will KO by the end of tonight...



At 5.30am me and the girls went to have McDonalds breakfast and took a taxi home...
Waiting for my Housemate to pay for the taxi. I stood there feeling like crap with my torn Ivy outfit.

Valentines Day my ASS!

It's Valentine's Day again. People getting flowers and chocolates. People getting depressed because they're not getting flowers and chocolates.  I don't believe in Valentine's Day.

I don't find it at all romantic to be given a card, bunch of flowers, box of chocolates, whatever on one particular day, because the gift giver has been told giving presents etc. on this particular day is romantic.

I'd much rather someone give me a nice cup of tea, or a book they know I've been wanting to read, on some random day, just because they were thinking about me, and decided to get me something nice. That's romance.

I'm Sea Captain with no Taxi Luck.

Happy Halloween everyone! Once again this year i decided to head out to the busiest place during this day - Lan Kwai Fong!!!!
I had work all day and finished around 11pm where i then headed to my friends place to get changed into my outfit before going out. By the time we arrived to LKF it was already 1am. (Partying in HK often starts at 1am... HK people are night crawlers lol)
I am supposed to be Captain Hook but i don't know where my hook is. Don't ask, it's missing :(
Oh well! I'll just have to be Captain Lukian today. Hehe

Like every year this day Lan Kwai Fong is blocked up and packed with Monsters, Ghosts, Super Heroes, Animals and naked people. No way was i going to be part of that crowd being pushed around and have random people touching me so me and my girls decided to meet at the Top and walk down instead of the normal way of walking up. Knowing many people kinda has it's advantages too from being place to place haha.






So me and girls partied from Club to Club until around 4am when i decided to call out early since i had work at 11am the next morning.
Many interesting things happened in the middle of this but details i rather not bring out but let's just say someone was literally asking to be smashed by me. Obviously i wouldn't do such thing *cough.
Lukian has a very very very good EQ. So you can imagine what this girl was doing to me.

Anyway! For some reason finding taxi in HK has always been a bum for the past 2 years so imagine during celebration dates?
Many people queuing for Taxi, MANY taxis available but no one riding. Why? Because those jerk Taxi drivers are talking the price up - which is illegal, but what can we do?
Normally if i was in a hurry i would talk money with them or tell them to take me to the police station if they were unwilling to drive me (but only works if you're already inside the vehicle) Taxi drivers now lock their doors and make you talk money for they let you in. Crazy!

Being slightly frustrated with this taxi issue me and my girl decided to walk further away to Four Seasons Hotel where there defiantly be an available Taxi who's not part of the money talk crowd willing to take us home. Oh~ we also grabbed an Oreo McFlurry in our 24/hr McD's along the way. Heehee!!!

Miss Golden Treasure Chest.

It's coming to the end of the Chinese New Year and this year i spent it fully in Macau dressed up in Gold and... GOLD! lol

The dress was extremely heavy and even lighted up, super cute right?
The problem was the amount of people who wanted to touch the coins and gold blocks on my dress. - It's a luck thing, The chinese think that touching gold would bring them luck. Parents even told their kids to give me a hug or a kiss because it would bring them good wealth and luck. One mother even told her son (looked around 6 years old) to give me hug and hopefully his future wife would be as beautiful as i was. I was so embarrassed........

Thinking about it, Lukian does mean "bringer of light" and my chinese name means "The Kings Precious". I guess i'm a pretty good person for the job during the New Year haha!




I didn't have it as bad at my friend dressed as the chinese candy box. It was so heavy i couldn't even carry her dress off the table. What made it funnier was that everyone kept trying to open up her skirt to see what's inside. Haha! She was literally drumming her dress shut.

It's the first time for me to be away from my family for the whole of the New Year but i guess it is also can be seen as a great start for the Year of the snake to be earning lots of cash haha! Bad thing is, it's Macau, basically the chinese Vegas. LOL Lucky i don't itch for gambling, otherwise i'm fucked! LOL

Wario is in the house tonight!

Halloween, the festive day of trick or treating, dressing yourself up, carving pumpkins, playing pranks and watching horror movies at night.
This may shock you but i never celebrated Halloween until a few years back, so when i have friends telling me how they are too old for it or its always the same thing and getting boring, i'd say, that's because most of them started a young age. For me, its only just begun! Why? Well, this is the story...

As i have mentioned many times before i was raised by my traditional chinese mother living in the UK. Most of the older chinese generations are rather superstitious and for the chinese its all about having a good and lucky atmosphere so the fact that people are celebrating and dressing up as evil spirits and monsters was completely disgusted upon. My mother would say, "有人唔做，走去扮鬼!" which means, "You're a human, but you'd rather be a ghost!" Haha, i then told her, "people don't only dress up as devils and ghosts, they also dress up and Angels and some cute animals" of course though, Angels are apparently people who died and animals are pests. Why would i want to be a class lower than human? She didn't see the fun in it at all. The blood and violent weapons symbolized death and unlucky vibes to her so, i was raised without a childhood of finding a cool outfit, dressing up and knocking on on neighbors doors asking for candy. Besides, being a obedient chinese girl i would never disobey my mother.

When i got a little older there was a school halloween party, i would ask for my mothers permission first of course and she'd let me but i never did dress up since my family couldn't afford those fancy outfits.

So what did i do during Halloween? I stayed at home, what a good chinese girl was expected to do. But this is the funny part, i was a chicken shit back when i was a kid. I was scared of almost everything. I remember one Halloween night i was left all alone at home while my mother drove my sister to her friends place, there was a knock on my door. I peaked out of the small gap of the window's curtain next to the door and i saw the most freaky thing ever! It was THE SCREAM! I ran upstairs, heart pounding and just hid into my bed.

During my late teenage years was when i started to really party, dress up and spend lot's of money and time buying and making my outfit. Come on, i was working, made friends and could basically, afford it! And since my mother was under my care and i was the man of the house, i could do anything i want and what i wanted was to get back all the fun i missed during the past Halloweens.

Still, time flies and those were the days, now i'm just an old fart that enjoys being a vegetable in front of my TV watching scary movies all night and if i'm lucky with junk food and a friend. I don't have the energy to party as much i did before, somehow though, this year was an exception. I decided to dress up, head out and dance all night! Okay, well, not all night, i got very exhausted and left Lan Kwai Fong around 2AM. My friend called me old and retired cause apparently the real party started around 3AM. Oops...

The Birthday Party.

Okay so last year i made a "I hate Birthdays" Blog. This year, i beg to differ. LOL
Just kidding, this year i actually planned myself a Birthday Party. Ain't that amazing? I had the party early because i was going to be in Macau working during my actual birthday. It was also a Co-birthday because my birthday was close to another friend of mine - but i'll talk about what actually happened for the party later.
This year, i am very happy to say, I HAVE FRIENDS!!! haha, i had many close friends back in London coming to Hong Kong during my birthday month which really made me feel like a Queen. It's never been such a Full House before so that's why, for me, someone who never celebrates, decided to celebrate. So what was the plan?

Me and my Friend Sing, decided to make a Birthday Party like no other party since it has never been such a full house. We decided to make 2 teams, Red Sing Team and Green Bo Team. Sing's team having to wear red and mine having to wear green. Each team will have roughly 15 players. Each person must contribute a gift worth HK$250. The Gift could be something nice like a Mini Desk Robot to, i don't know, HK$250 dollars worth of condoms or instant noodles - Then these gift will be used a The Prizes won after each game. There will be several drinking games and there will be a score board noting down each players win. At the end of the day the player with the highest score on each team will be taking out for the finale game round, then the Team with the least winning points after that will have to be punished by the winning team. Sounds confusing but it really isn't lol.
So after a rough start my Team ended up beating Sing's Team by 20 points! And what was the punishment? The losing team had to pick 3 players to wear a wonderwoman, supergirl and kinky police woman costume, go down to the streets and buy take out for our team! MUHAHAHHAHAHAAA!!!

Anyway, i was very happy for all those who made it even though they had to work at 9am the next day. Thank you all so much for coming!

It feels good to have friends to support you at the one time you try to make something happen, but at the same time i remembered by i never celebrated it before, it takes so much effort and energy and of course, like mentioned in the blog last year there will be many disappointments because not everyone will understand or feel how much something means to you. It's just a another Birthday to them but for me, it's something a lot more this year.

The photos for this day are actually very hilarious but i am very sorry to say, i won't be posting them up - Until i have the approval from everyone in the photos.

DUCATI, Miss Sixty and Juicy Girl.

So i worked at the DUCATI 1199 Panigale S Tricolore launching party. For those who don't know much about motorcycles, Ducati is like the Ferrari of motorcycles. Does that make better sense? Anyway, today Miss Sixty and Juicy Girl were having a fashion show here to celebrate the launching.
Being a Motor Girl doesn't exactly suit me. I personally think i'm too old to be wearing short hot underwear and climbing on top of a motorbike making cute poses. It would just look wrong; So of course, i was here for the Fashion Show. I'll leave the Ducati to the younger models.
I did get to wear the Ducati top though, which was rather comfy.




The show was lively since it was held in a club. I don't often do shows in Clubs, i think the last time i did was for the beautiful cooking show. (Of course, much younger then.)
I know i don't blog much about my work, because when i work i don't have time to take photos. Even if i did they were not of myself. haha. Anyway I'll try to blog more on my work.

FLS Concert 2012!

Woohoo! Backstage at the FLS concert 2012!
FLS announced they will temporarily disband which was quite a shocking surprise for the audience and hoped this concert would give the audience a perfect last performance (temporarily).

It was a full house Concert Hall at the HK Colisuem. Super lively bunch! I think i screamed the most. haha! Anyway, here are just a few photos i took with them just before Show time.





The highlights of the Show FOR ME was defiantly the Miss Pregnant Hong Kong Contest, The "Five Tigers", Karen Tong, Nancy Sit and Kitty Yuen disguised as school girls, Cho Lam's Let's Get 'FAT' performance and Johnson's Stand up.

How to Celebrate Chinese New Year.

Welcome to the Year of the Dragon!
Before i begin this blog i want to wish you all the best of Health and Wealth this year. For those Whether you are still in school fighting through your examinations or working under the stress of your career, let this strong Dragon fight by your side!

So, Chinese New Year. The celebration that lasts 15 days! We lucky to be part of it! So what actually happens during Chinese New Year? Let me give you an idea from my side of the story. haha!

Clean your Home!
Before the New Year is when Chinese Parents (mostly mothers)rush around the house cleaning up! This tradition is founded in the belief that cleaning the house at this time of year will "sweep away" the bad luck and makes the house ready for the good luck to start entering again.
The crazy traditional mothers would throw away the brooms, clothes they used to clean up the house afterwards so no "bad luck" remains.

Keeping fresh and hygienic is also an important part of celebrating! Many people go for a hair cut even.

Remember, all this happens before the New Year! You are not allowed to clean your home DURING the New Year! Including sweeping or wiping the windows! Because you may sweep or wipe away any the newly received Good Luck!

Decorate your Home!
The color that is most recommended is red and gold. Red is the color or symbol of good luck while Gold represents wealth. The number "8" also symbolizes good luck and wealth - the chinese word for eight rhymes with fortune or wealth.
Place flowers through the house, such as lotuses. Lotus flowers symbolize rebirth and new growth.
Set out a tray of candies with eight (yes the no.8 again lol) different types of candies arranged along it. The traditional candies are those made from lotus seeds, longan, peanuts, coconut, red melon seed, candied melon, etc.

Have a Traditional Dinner!
This is one of the most important parts of the holiday and the food eaten at this time of year has traditional meanings related to the Chinese New Year. Trust me, i once invited an non-chinese speaker to this meal and it was a bum trying to translate and explain the different meaning and names to each dish. So i rather not go through that here too lol.

Dress up for the Occasion!
If you have traditional Chinese clothing, this is the perfect time to wear it. If you don't, don't worry! Just wear something Red! In Hong Kong if you wear all black on this day, be prepared to be EYED up and receive a load of complaints by your family so please avoid wearing too much black during the celebration period. Black symbolizes bad luck and even death. - Most of my wardrobe is Black so i often just wear all black and paint my nails red or carry a red purse with me hehe.

Interact with others in a positive manner!
Chinese New Year is a time of happiness and good fortune and it's important to spread the goodwill. Avoid having any quarrels, fights, or negative attitudes during the New Year. These will bring you bad luck. Don't even swear or mention anything "bad". Not being able to curse was the worst part for me.

Visit your relatives and friends.
Chinese New Year is a time of connecting and sharing the celebrations together. It maybe boring to repeativaly say "Kung hei fat choy" to everyone which means: "We hope that you will be wealthy". But if you are not married, It's seriously worth it! Why? Because you will receive a RED POCKET filled with cash every time you greet and wish someone to be healthy and wealthy! These RED POCKET are usually given to the unmarried from the married.

Visit the Temple or Parade!
TIme to watch some Lion and Dragon Dancing and listen to loud festive music of drumming and fire crackers etc etc. The lions and dragons scare off the bad spirits along with the loud drumming. You can also head to temples to pray for good luck. If you are not of Chinese descent but would like to participate, attend a Chinese temple and take a tube of fortune sticks - Ask a question, shake the tube and the number that falls out first can be interpreted by one of the fortune tellers at the temple. Fun stuff!

Oh any last but not least. You must always have one light left on in your home throughout the New Years. It's bad luck to have an un lit up home.

DISNEY KIGURUMI - Late, tired and Hungry!

Who knew having fun can actually be tiring? At the end of our Magical adventure we all slowly started to lose our "hyper" attitudes. It was getting dark and we can't go home without watching the fireworks! So the only thing that was left for us was to repeatedly ride on Space Mountain since the queues were down and do what dear Action Bastard would tell us to do - Put our mouth on a sausage!



Disneyland does these jumbo sized hot dogs with either chili or creamy mushroom sauce. it was a nommer! Yes, Action Bastard HO! You were right again! After eating that amazing sausage our energy levels were restored and we finished the night with the wonderful Disneyland Firework displays. To be honest, it was rather romantic. It felt warm even though we were actually getting sandwiched by the crowd. Well, me and Marie were pretty safe. We had Sully and Jack Protect us! hoho!

DISNEY KIGURUMI - The Magical Journey!

Finally arrived at Disneyland Hong Kong. Already got stopped many times for photos - maybe people thought we worked here. People even asked if we got our costumes from the Disneyland shops! Of course we had to disappoint them on that.



Okay so some of us were pretty much hung over - Mainly Sully. Funny! there were actually warning signs when you queue up saying "You must be sober to ride." LMAO! Anyway we did manage to have a lot of fun even though today was a public holiday and Disneyland was packed! You know what5 that means.... long long long queues...

So anyway, another reason for todays trip was also because Hong Kong Disneyland opened a "TOY STORY LAND" that has a RC Racer - a high-speed U-shaped coaster ride, Slinky Dog Spin and a Toy Soldier Parachute Drop (which we were unable to try since the queue time was 90minutes) FUCK!

Another New Beginning?

Have you been thinking about your New Year’s Resolution already? Let me guess. Oh wait, there's no point! No one keeps them anyway! Asking for someones New Years resolution is actually just a conversation starter during the ending weeks of December.

Apparently the world will end this year.
Suddenly everyone wants to live life to it's fullest. It makes me laugh. Why? Because first of all shouldn't you be living life to the fullest on a daily basis? I mean, people die unexpectedly everyday! If people only die when the world ends then even more you should of been treasuring every moment!

Okay, so i did think about it. If the world suddenly just exploded and everyone would just die - Let's just say on December 31st 2012. I would go traveling and visit places i have never been before and meet new people! taste different foods! and everyday i would smile and there will be no tears of sorrow but with joy. On the final moment i would love the people of the whole world to just all join hands - now, that would be a scene. Of course, that would just be too much to ask for so i guess the best way for me to leave this earth would be in the arms of my beloved while listening to my best playlist.

Right! Enough of this shit! Point is! Just don't waste anymore time! Try do things differently this year! Just for fun! You never know when your time is. I mean, i may even just choke on a fish bone to death during dinner or walk out of my home to buy some milk and slip on a leaf and just...die lol. Seriously! these things happen!! You know how many people in Hong Kong die from trying to close their window and randomly the window just falls off and takes you with them? That's scary shit! But still! that doesn't mean you life your life taking no risks! I don't want to survive! I want to live!

Trick Or Treat?

Hope you all had a great Halloween!
I've been very boring this year. I didn't prepare myself a Halloween Costume - FOR ONCE!
For once i decided not to dress up for Halloween. There's been countless amount of people asking me whether i will dress up or Who am i going to be. Somehow, this year i wasn't bothered at all! One excuse is because of work, so i didn't really get the chance to think properly or prepare, but the biggest reason of all. - I just didn't feel like it.
I remember my mother called during the afternoon EXPECTING me to be putting on make up and a strange outfit. I was like, "Nope" and she was speechless.

For Halloween, I'ved decided to be Myself. Just going out and have drinks with my friends while discussing how to PK some jerk in my game while spending a lot of money on mystery pet eggs.TRICK! I ended up spending US$40 on 10 eggs, but no Pet. That's how bad my luck is...

Anyway, before the drinks of course i did also go out earlier in the evening. I played Pool for the first time in 4 years and realized, even though it's 'Pool', it's not like swimming. (Once you learn to swim you'll never forget it.) I forgot how to play Pool and i fail at getting any ball into any hole. My friends then decided to teach me how to play darts - it was worse. I ended up breaking two out of my three darts. My end score was 431/501....

TRICK! Maybe women are just not meant to be good at aiming or scoring.

We then decided to watch a Scary Movie and get into the Halloween spirit. TREAT! So happens everyone gets a free popcorn and drink! YAY! We watched "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark". We all thought we were watching a Ghost movie, TRICK! ends up being about little fugly gollum monsters that basically looked like wrinkly mice.

So then after getting bombarded by my friends how i TRICK!ed them into watching a shitty movie i ended up buying them drinks. TREAT! The wonderful people at the bar gave me free devil ears.

Moon Festival!

Everyone has the day off today! Why? To recover from all the moon watching last night.
As far as I can tell whether you call it the Zhonqiu or Mid-Autumn Festival or how i like to call it, "Moon Festival", it is really about two things: mooncakes and lanterns. Under the bright harvest moon augmented with lantern light, families get together to celebrate and eat moon cakes.

During the day n Hong Kong's Mid Autumn Festival, Hong Kongers seem even more rushed than useral. They are either rushing around in the jam packed Temples or out in the streets trying to get their hands on Mooncake or some seafood at the Markets for that nights feast like they were going to be sold out any minute - One of those people being me. I am not a Moon cake fan at all, so i tend to buy Haagen Daz's Ice-Cream Moon cakes but they are often sold out for sure!



In the Evening people are often having dinner with the Family. It's a bit like Thanks Giving. I went to my Grandmothers home today for dinner. I arrived at around 5PM and she was already super busy in the kitchen preparing so i popped opened a nice wine with my Grandfather - yes, we decided to get wasted before the dinner haha! Oh this is the view from their balcony. You see the bright lights on the right? That's where we headed after the dinner - Victoria Park's Lantern Wonderland Carnival!



So i talked down to Victoria Park with my family to check out all the festivities and boy was it packed! Roads were blocked, lot's of traffic and a lot of police and first aid. It started to look a little like Carnival back in London. LOL! But of course, more romantic since it was night lol!




Everyone camps out with their families and lights candles and lanterns to pay homage to the moon.
The picnicking in a park makes it a little like the Fourth of July and little kids wandering around with lanterns and glow-stick adornments makes it a little bit like Halloween.

The Japanese and Korean community in Hong Kong were also here to celebrate, men and female wearing beautiful Hanbok and Kimono, strangely it was the chinese that didn't really bother dressing up for this event, i only saw a few little kids wearing Cheongsam haha! It was cute still.

Notting Hill Carnival in London 2011!

Waking up super early after sleeping 'Early' was a bum but i was so excited i swear i can't even begin to explain how happy i felt and what a great time i had at the carnival, wow it was so much fun i loved every bit of it. But before heading out, something i cannot NOT do, is to have the hotel's Full English breakfast room serviced!!!! Haha, i'm such a pig. Nom Nom Nom.



Many stations have been closed due to the carnival so we ended up traveling an extra few stops before we could reach an open station. I was like, "Crap, how am i to talk to the carnival without getting lost?" And oh! Look at that! Saves road idiots like me a bunch! LOL!

The carnival celebrates Caribbean culture and attracts about 1 million people with its mix of flamboyant dancers, rousing steel bands and booming outdoor sound systems.

I went on the last day. I've never been so this would be my first time, but all my friends have told me it's the best!



Alright, another tourist shot. Haha, i must say, Britian Police Officer's uniforms are much better looking than the ones in Hong Kong. Plus, with their tall hats it makes them look even BIGGER!! The police on the right is pretty charming. hoho. They were very nice and friendly.



Police say about 274 people were arrested during London's Notting Hill Carnival - Europe's largest street festival (a similar number to the previous year) despite worries of major disturbances following England's riots.

Something else i need to mention that's not related to the Carnival though. Did you know that if a Pregnant woman needs to use the toilet and there's none close by, a Police officer must offer his hat to let her urinate! D: hmm, can add that to my 'To Do' List for the future.

LOL!!! ANYWAYS!! Here are some of the photos i took from the Floats. There's actually a lot more, but i think no one would be able to load my page if i put like hundreds of photos into one blog.






Something that i found very cool was that many people would bring out their own collection of Speakers and stereos and be in competition with the others on who's got the better sound system for a party. Haha! I would walk down different streets and randomly see sound systems stacked up and a bunch of people chilling or dancing. It was interesting.



After a lot of dancing and drinking coconut with rum, me and my friends decided to grab some lunch! There were so many stalls to choose from but one thing you must eat here is the Jerk Chicken! Jerk chicken is a Caribbean dish featuring chicken marinated in the famous jerk sauce of Jamaica. The chicken is prepared on an open grill, and served with sides like rice, salad, and mixed vegetables. The chicken is dry, fiery, and slightly smoky, But i like it. Another dish we had was the Curry Goat.







By the time we left, hundreds of people were heading to Westbourne Grove and Ladbroke Grove, dancing, laughing and enjoying the last days of summer. It’s a fun time for all — head on over if you’re in London next year!

Me and my friend were doing our attempt of Shuffling randomly in the street to the Party Rock anthem and a guy out of no where deicided to join us. Yep, that's Carnival! :P
